Planning Academic Circles· Purpose: Why are you using the circle?
· Intention: What are some goals for your students? Yourself? The lesson? · Questions: What questions will you ask? Make sure to have these planned out ahead of time. While the best circles are organic where students lead the discussion to interesting places, it is important to always have good questions to begin the circle. · Starting: If you’re asking students for their opinion or testing their knowledge, let the participants go first. If you are sharing personal experiences, the teacher (or facilitator goes first). |
